Basketball Recap: Macon Comes Up Short

Macon was the 69-43 winner over Mark Twain when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Macon Tigers fell just short of the Mark Twain Tigers by a score of 50-47 on Tuesday.

Leading Mark Twain to victory were Adalynne Means and Ella Moss. Means went 5 of 12 on her way to 18 points and six boards, while Moss went 5 for 6 en route to 12 points and three steals. Moss has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Ross, who posted nine points and five rebounds.

Macon has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Mark Twain, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-9.

Macon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 69-53 defeat against Palmyra on the 31st. Mark Twain has also already played their next game, a 55-34 victory against Marion County on the 31st.
