Baseball Recap: Ranchview Wins Going Away Against Jefferson

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Ranchview brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. Everything went their way against the Jefferson Patriots on Thursday as the Ranchview Wolves made off with a 16-4 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won three in a row.

Martin Samford made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Samford is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stole at least two every time he's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jacob Harms, who went 2-for-3 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Remy Klein, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Ranchview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .692. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory got Ranchview back to even at 2-2. As for Jefferson, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Ranchview will welcome West Mesquite at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Jefferson, they will head out to square off against Horn at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
