Basketball Recap: Frankfort Takes a Loss

Frankfort was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Winamac Warriors and fell 66-15. While losing is never fun, the Hot Dogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 386th, while the Warriors are ranked 176th).

Winamac's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sadie Popejoy, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten boards. That's the most rebounds Popejoy has posted since back in November of 2023. Another player making a difference was Kandace Kroft, who went 6 of 15 en route to 18 points along with seven boards and five assists.

Frankfort's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Winamac, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Frankfort didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 40-12 defeat against North Newton on the 3rd. As for Winamac, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 51-35 loss against Rossville on the 3rd.
