The Cortez Colts will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Poway Titans at 7:30 p.m. on December 26th. Hopefully Cortez focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Wednesday.
Cortez's and Glendale's game was close at halftime, but Cortez turned on the heat in the second half with 46 points. Cortez took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 73-44 victory over Glendale.
Ulysses Espinoza was his usual excellent self, going 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 2 assists. The matchup was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Devan Fowler was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five assists and four steals.
Meanwhile, Poway ended up a good deal behind Rancho Buena Vista on Friday and lost 60-41. While losing is never fun, Poway can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 820th, while Rancho Buena Vista is ranked 161st).
Cortez is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Poway, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
