Basketball Game Preview: Grace Christian Crusaders vs. Mount Zion Christian Academy Mighty Warriors

The Grace Christian Crusaders will head out on the road to take on the Mount Zion Christian Academy Mighty Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Grace Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 68.9 points per game this season.

Grace Christian is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Wesleyan Christian Academy just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a hard 68-50 fall against the Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Trojans are ranked 26th).

Despite the defeat, Grace Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Nate Jones posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaedyn Cole, who scored eight points.

Meanwhile, Mount Zion Christian Academy came up short against NC GBB Academy National on Tuesday and fell 77-66. The Mighty Warriors haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Mount Zion Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Grace Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.

Grace Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Mount Zion Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, sneaking past 67-65. Will Grace Christian repeat their success, or does Mount Zion Christian Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
