Baseball Recap: Derby Comes Up Short

Derby lost against Watertown back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Red Raiders lost 11-5 to the Warriors. The Red Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nicholas Sheridan led a balanced group of hitters, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Fernandez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Derby now has a losing record of 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Derby will venture away from home to square off against Seymour at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Watertown, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against Nonnewaug at 3:45 p.m. on the 25th.
