Football Game Preview: Dumas Bobcats vs. Barton Bears

The Dumas Bobcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Barton Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Barton took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Dumas, who comes in off a win.

It was a proper cat-fight when Dumas challenged Rison on Friday. The Bobcats snuck past the Wildcats with a 40-34 win. The Bobcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Dumas' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rashad Moore led the charge by rushing for 103 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries. What's more, Moore posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Ke'Marion Jackson was in the mix too, providing Dumas with two touchdowns.

Dumas didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jackson and Da'Shawn Norah. Dumas got some further help from Jordan Kinney: he made 16 total tackles.

Meanwhile, Barton had to suffer through a 49-13 loss at the hands of Palestine-Wheatley. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Barton now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Dumas, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Everything went Dumas' way against Barton in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Dumas made off with a 28-7 victory. In that matchup, the Bobcats amassed a halftime lead of 28-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
