Volleyball Recap: Salem Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Salem challenged Southport on Saturday. The Lions took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals. The defeat continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Cardinals: they've now lost three in a row.

Southport found their leader in sophomore Lily Boone, who had ten digs and four aces. Boone is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least ten every time she's taken the court this season.

Salem's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Southport, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Coming up, Salem will square off against Madison at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southport, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Mitchell on the 16th.
