Basketball Recap: Nestucca Comes Up Short

If Nestucca was riding high fresh off their 57-26 takedown of Gaston last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Nestucca Bobcats were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 70-69 to Vernonia/Jewell. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (57), the Bobcats still had to take the loss.

Nestucca's defeat dropped their record down to 17-11. As for Vernonia/Jewell, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-19.

Nestucca wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 70-69 loss against Vernonia on the 11th. As for Vernonia/Jewell, they are taking a road trip to square off against Gaston at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
