West Valley is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Lathrop, who was ranked 15th at the time (West Valley was ranked fifth). The Wolf Pack walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Malemutes on Tuesday. West Valley haven't had any issues with Lathrop recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

West Valley hit Lathrop with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Koen Aitken, Conrad Lassey, and Quinn Willis.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, North Pole was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They lost 4-0 to Wasilla. North Pole fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Wasilla since on Saturday.

West Valley's victory bumped their record up to 7-4-1. As for North Pole, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That lines up perfectly with their 1-5-2 record this season.
