Soccer Recap: South Comes Up Short

South lost against Palos Verdes back in December of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The South Spartans lost 5-0 to the Palos Verdes Sea Kings. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Sea Kings are ranked 11th).

South has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Palos Verdes, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2-2.

South will be playing at home against El Segundo at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. El Segundo is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.6 goals per game this season. As for Palos Verdes, they will head out on the road to face off against Redondo Union at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Palos Verdes also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 2.8 goals per game.
