Jayvaun Shears put on the cape for
McKeesport (Pa.) in the WPIAL Class 5A semifinals on Friday night.
The 5-foot-10, 175-pound quarterback recovered a botched extra point attempt and juked out three defenders before crossing the goal line for the exciting score.
Shears also heaved the viral Hail Mary throw and had three total touchdowns to help the Tigers defeat Gateway 41-38 and advance to the WPIAL Class 5A championship game next Friday for the first time since 2005.
