Softball Recap: Longmeadow Comes Up Short

Longmeadow fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against North Attleborough on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rocketeers by a score of 6-5.

Isabella Blue spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Longmeadow saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Winstel, who went 2-for-5 with one run and one RBI. Ella Fonseca was another, going 2-for-5 with two runs.

Longmeadow's loss dropped their record down to 14-7. As for North Attleborough, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-9-1.

As of now, neither Longmeadow nor the Rocketeers have any future games scheduled.
