Baseball Game Preview: Amador Buffaloes vs. Rosemont Wolverines

For the second straight game, Amador will face off against Rosemont. Amador will be playing in front of their home fans against Rosemont at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Amador headed into their last game having not scored more than two runs for four straight, but Rosemont let them put that streak behind them. Amador blew past Rosemont 13-3 on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Buffaloes as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Amador let Sam Baker and Brad Blankenheim run wild. Baker scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4, while Blankenheim scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs Baker has posted since back in April of 2024. Joe Lynch was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Amador's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-7-1. As for Rosemont, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6-1.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Amador has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Rosemont struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.2 strikeouts.
