Basketball Recap: Shorecrest Prep Find Success

Shorecrest Prep won the last time they faced Northside Christian and things went their way on Friday too. The Shorecrest Prep Chargers walked away with a 65-56 win over the Northside Christian Mustangs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chargers.

Shorecrest Prep had a senior duo take command as Nickolas Bearden posted 26 points and Ahmad Crumity put up 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Crumity has scored all season. Damarion Feaster was another key player, putting up eight points.

Despite the defeat, Northside Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Elijah Ahlers dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten boards. Ahlers is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaycen White, who scored 13 points.

Shorecrest Prep's record now sits at 10-4. As for Northside Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.

Shorecrest Prep and Calvary Christian will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Calvary Christian will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something Shorecrest Prep surely won't give up without a fight. As for Northside Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Admiral Farragut at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Admiral Farragut's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
