Basketball Recap: James Elder's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Casady over Chisholm

Casady was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. The matchup between them and the Chisholm Longhorns didn't end well, with the Casady Cyclones falling 80-63.

Several Cyclones players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was James Elder, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Elder has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jozef Pikula, who made all 5 shots he took to post 11 points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Casady was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. This was only their 14th loss (out of 16 games) when they've passed the ball that well.

Casady's loss dropped their record down to 2-22. As for Chisholm, their victory bumped their record up to 11-13.

Coming up, Casady will take on KIPP Tulsa University Prep at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chisholm does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
