Softball Recap: Triway Takes a Loss

Triway had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 13-6 to make it four. They fell just short of the Dalton Bulldogs by a score of 4-3. The Titans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

As for Dalton, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games.

For Dalton's part, Mei Simmons spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. Simmons has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jaedyn Yoder, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Skylar Fletcher was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

Coming up, Triway will challenge Coventry at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Dalton, they will take on Rittman at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.06 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
