Basketball Recap: New London Extends Home Winning Streak to 11

New London had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They strolled past the Crosby Bulldogs with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 70-56. The win continues a trend for the Whalers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead New London to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayvon Robinson, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine assists. Another player making a difference was Jaxyn Beaudet, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten boards.

Robinson wasn't the only one working in the assist department: New London was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They posted seven more assists than Crosby's also-impressive total of ten.

When it comes to explaining why Crosby lost, don't look at Rayquan Anderson. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Anderson a new career-high in boards. CJ Mcrae was another key player, putting up 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

New London pushed their record up to 21-4 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.5 points. As for Crosby, their record now sits at 16-8.

New London has already played their next contest, a 46-44 win against West Haven on the 7th. Crosby does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
