The Montgomery Red Raiders will square off against the Wyalusing Valley Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Montgomery is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.4 runs per game this season.

Montgomery's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Monday's struggle, when Northwest Area hitters got past them. The Red Raiders came up short against the Rangers on Monday, falling 13-1. The match marked the Red Raiders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Montgomery saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jenna Houseknect, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Wyalusing Valley beat Canton 4-1 on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won five in a row.

Montgomery's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 13-2. As for Wyalusing Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10.

Montgomery was able to grind out a solid win over Wyalusing Valley when the teams last played back in May of 2021, winning 3-0. Do the Red Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
