Buckeye had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They put the hurt on the Holy Savior Menard Eagles with a sharp 8-1 victory. Considering the Panthers have won four games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Buckeye pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Holy Savior Menard, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Panthers take on the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Buckeye's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Ouachita Parish's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Holy Savior Menard, they will challenge Grant at 6:00 p.m. on March 7th.
