Basketball Game Preview: Hazen Wildcats vs. Winooski Spartans

The Hazen Wildcats will square off against the Winooski Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Hazen comes in on 25 and Winooski on three.

Last Thursday, everything came up roses for Hazen against Bellows Free Academy as the squad secured a 57-23 victory. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 34 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Winooski won against Northfield on Tuesday with 48 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. Winooski blew past Northfield, posting a 48-21 win. That's two games straight that the Spartans have won by exactly 27 points.

Hazen's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.6 points per game. As for Winooski, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Hazen against Winooski in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, as the team secured an 81-19 win. Does Hazen have another victory up their sleeve, or will Winooski turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
