Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Laney

Laney won the last time they faced Ashley, and Colin Lamb did his part to make sure it happened again. The Laney Buccaneers came out on top against the Ashley Screaming Eagle by a score of 44-33 on Friday thanks in part to Lamb, who went 8 of 16 on his way to 19 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in blocks (two).

The win was the fourth in a row for Laney, bringing their record for this year to 4-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Ashley, they moved to 5-3 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Laney will take on North Myrtle Beach in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Laney is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53 points per game this season. As for Ashley, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cary at 3:00 p.m. on December 27th.
