Softball Game Preview: Booker Kiowas vs. Borden County Coyotes

Booker is 0-5 against Borden County since May of 2017 but things could change on Saturday. The Kiowas will square off against the Coyotes. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Booker is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They blew past Crosbyton 21-13. 21 seems to be a good number for the Kiowas as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Borden County had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Mustangs.

Booker is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games. As for Borden County, their victory bumped their record up to 13-7.

Booker might still be hurting after the 20-0 defeat they got from Borden County in their previous matchup back in April of 2019. Can the Kiowas avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
