Softball Recap: Poplar Springs Takes a Loss

If Poplar Springs was riding high fresh off their 26-16 takedown of Gadsden County on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Atomics lost 18-8 to the Malone Tigers on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-3 back in March.

Jada Bollon made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Amelia Howell, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Poplar Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Malone, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-10.

As of now, neither Poplar Springs nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
