It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Southern Door ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Algoma Wolves. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Tyler Neinas made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Neinas was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Isaac Baudhuin was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-5. Another player making a difference was Braylon Berg, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Southern Door's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Algoma, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southern Door will challenge Marinette at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Algoma, they will face off against Reedsville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
