Volleyball Recap: Chavez Titans vs. Stagg Delta Kings
Chavez proved they can win big on Monday (they won by three) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Stagg Delta Kings, sneaking past 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Titans: when they faced off against the Delta Kings back in March, they had to take a 3-2 loss.
If you add up the scores from across all five sets (110-108) Chavez actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 27-25, 20-25, 25-22, 15-13.

Chavez's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Angel Cobian, who had 17 digs and three aces. What's more, Cobian posted two kills, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Brandon Nonnarath was another key player, getting 25 digs, 13 kills, and two aces.
Several Delta Kings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Evan Sun, who had 21 kills, 21 digs, and one block. Sun is on a roll when it comes to kills, as he's now had five or more in each of the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Angelo Lagrimas, who had 12 digs and five kills.
Chavez's victory bumped their record up to 7-15. As for Stagg, they dropped their record down to 5-16 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road.
As of now, neither Chavez nor the Delta Kings have any future games scheduled.
