Softball Recap: West Creek Takes a Loss

West Creek fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Northwest on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They came up short against the Vikings, falling 17-8. The defeat leaves the Coyote still looking for their first win of the season.

Aubrey Coleman and Paityn Swift did some serious damage despite the final result: Coleman went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double, while Swift went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most runs Swift has posted since back in March of 2024. Alexis Reney also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

West Creek's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Northwest, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-5 record this season.

West Creek will be playing in front of their home fans against Clarksville at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Clarksville will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something West Creek surely won't give up without a fight. As for Northwest, they will venture away from home to square off against Dickson County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
