New Covenant Academy skates past Golden City with ease

Recap: New Covenant Academy Warriors vs. Golden City Eagles

The New Covenant Academy Warriors scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Golden City 77-36 at home. The victory was some much needed relief for New Covenant Academy as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Despite the defeat, Golden City saw an underclassman step up: Spencer Parrill scored 13 points along with three steals. Parrill is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamison Menadue, who scored 12 points along with three steals.

New Covenant Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Golden City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 13 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season.

New Covenant Academy will square off against School of the Ozarks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in School of the Ozarks' favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while New Covenant Academy has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. Golden City will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on McAuley Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th.
