Basketball Recap: Waike Roblyer Key Part of a Team Effort in Wardogs Win

Miami lost to Grove back in December of 2022, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Miami Wardogs narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Grove Ridgerunners 57-54. That's two games straight that the Wardogs have won by exactly three points.

Miami's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Waike Roblyer, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 17 points and seven rebounds. The game was Roblyer's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Blake Sooter was another key player, going 5 for 11 en route to 15 points.

Miami now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Grove, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-4 record.

Miami has already played their next matchup, a 62-49 loss against Wyandotte on the 18th. As for Grove, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Claremore Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st.
