Softball Recap: Oyster River's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

While Oyster River's win against Stark wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bobcats skirted past the Generals 7-6. The victory was familiar territory for the Bobcats, who have now won four contests in a row.

Sammy Bishop made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted over her last seven matches.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kate Michaud, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Oyster River pushed their record up to 16-3-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Stark, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7.
