The Santiago Cavaliers are taking a road trip to challenge the Bolsa Grande Matadors at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
Santiago managed to slip by Saddleback the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cavaliers lost 9-2 to the Roadrunners on Friday. The Cavaliers' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Isaiah Cortez was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one RBI. Santiago is 2-1 when Cortez posts three or more hits, but 4-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Arceo, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, Bolsa Grande entered their tilt with Rancho Alamitos on Thursday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Vaqueros. The game was the first time the Matadors have beaten the Vaqueros on their field since April 4, 2023.
Tank Britton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mikey Haley Jr., who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April of 2024.
Bolsa Grande's victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Santiago, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Santiago hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .381. However, it's not like Bolsa Grande struggles in that department as they've averaged .361. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Santiago might still be hurting after the 9-0 defeat they got from Bolsa Grande when the teams last played back in March. Can the Cavaliers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
