Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Wilmington). Everything went their way against the Sandwich Indians on Thursday as they made off with  a  13-1 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by eight  runs or more this season.
 Declan Moran was  incredible,  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and four  RBI. Those  two  stolen bases gave  him a new career-high.  Dierks Geiss was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases and three  runs.
 Wilmington  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sandwich struck out ten times.
Wilmington is  on a roll lately: they've  won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Sandwich,  the  loss snapped their winning streak at four games  and leaves them with a 9-10 record.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilmington will face off against St. Anne at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average (the Wildcats 2.6, the Cardinals 2.8) so any  runs scored will be well earned. As for Sandwich, they will take on Woodstock North at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
