Basketball Preview: New Milford Green Wave vs. Notre Dame Catholic Lancers
New Milford is 1-7 against the Lancers since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The New Milford Green Wave will be playing at home against the Notre Dame Catholic Lancers at 7:00 p.m. New Milford will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Lancers are ranked sixth).
Last Thursday, New Milford took a serious blow against the Bulldogs, falling 78-42. New Milford has struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as their contest on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ryder Gee, who scored eight points. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cole Jennings, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Notre Dame Catholic entered their tilt with the Trojans with ten consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 11. Notre Dame Catholic came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 59-50 on Thursday.
New Milford's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Notre Dame Catholic, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1.
