Basketball Game Preview: Clarksville Academy Cougars vs. Nashville Christian Eagles

Clarksville Academy is 1-9 against Nashville Christian since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Clarksville Academy Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Nashville Christian Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Clarksville Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.9 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Clarksville Academy lost to Goodpasture Christian on the road by a 60-45 margin.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Anna Hellums, who went 5 for 9 en route to 11 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayda Madison, who posted ten points.

Meanwhile, Nashville Christian came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Bears by a score of 43-30. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Bears are ranked 221st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Clarksville Academy's loss dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Nashville Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.

Clarksville Academy was taken down by Nashville Christian 65-19 in their previous matchup last Monday. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Clarksville Academy was down 42-12.
