Basketball Game Preview: Salesian Eagles vs. Monsignor Farrell Lions

For the first time this season, Salesian will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to take on the Monsignor Farrell Lions at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Salesian will be strutting in after a win while Monsignor Farrell will be coming in after a loss.

Salesian is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Bishop Loughlin: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Eagles blew the Lions out of the water with a 99-59 final score.

Meanwhile, Monsignor Farrell unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 60-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Joseph-by-the-Sea on Wednesday.

Salesian couldn't quite finish off Monsignor Farrell when the teams last played back in December of 2024 and fell 48-45. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
