Baseball Recap: South Pemiscot Finds Home Field Redemption Against Malden

There's no place like home for South Pemiscot, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Malden Green Wave on Monday, sneaking past 4-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Zeke Floyd spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jarvis Amerson was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Robert Farmer, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

South Pemiscot has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Malden, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.

Coincidentally, South Pemiscot and Malden will both be playing Gideon the next time they take the field. The Bulldogs will host the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Green Wave will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
