Basketball Recap: Chancellor Piles Up the Points Against Dinwiddie

A well-balanced attack led Chancellor over Dinwiddie in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Chancellor Chargers blew the Dinwiddie Generals out of the water with a 54-27 final score. The Chargers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 27 points or more this season.

Natalie Lanning was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten boards. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lydia Brockelbank, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and four blocks.

Chancellor smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Dinwiddie lost, don't look at Madison Batts. Despite the final result, she posted 14 points.

Chancellor pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Dinwiddie, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Chancellor wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 64-53 win against Culpeper County on the 21st. As for Dinwiddie, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-32 loss against Matoaca on the 23rd.
