Softball Recap: Manvel Comes Up Short

Manvel came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Pearland Oilers, falling 18-3. The Mavericks have struggled against the Oilers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Manvel's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Pearland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.

Manvel will be playing at home against South Houston at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Manvel is facing South Houston at the right time seeing as South Houston is stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for Pearland, they are taking a road trip to face off against Dawson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dawson has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.52 runs per game on average), something Pearland will no doubt try to take advantage of.
