Basketball Game Preview: Charlevoix Rayders vs. Grayling Vikings

The Charlevoix Rayders will head out on the road to face off against the Grayling Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Charlevoix is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Last Thursday, Charlevoix didn't have too much trouble with Kingsley as they won 50-36. Given the Rayders' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Stags are ranked 615th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Grayling came up short against Cheboygan on Thursday, falling 62-41. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Charlevoix's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for Grayling, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

Charlevoix was able to grind out a solid victory over Grayling in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 51-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Charlevoix since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
