Basketball Recap: White Station Piles Up the Points Against Kingsbury

White Station won the last time they faced Kingsbury and things went their way on Tuesday too. The White Station Spartans claimed a resounding 67-12 victory over the Kingsbury Falcons. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-10.

Kikyo Lovin was the offensive standout of the matchup as she went 7 of 8 en route to 14 points and three steals. Serenity Austin was another key player, putting up four points and six steals.

Despite the loss, Kingsbury saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Maleah Ward posted eight points. That was a full 66.7% of Kingsbury's points, marking the 12th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

The win made it two in a row for White Station and bumps their season record up to 10-5. As for Kingsbury, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

White Station will look to defend their home court on Friday against Memphis Central at 6:00 p.m. As for Kingsbury, they will take on Overton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Kierra Baldwin and Ward.
