Volleyball Recap: St. Joseph Academy Extends Winning Streak to Three

St. Joseph Academy had won two straight games and Milani Marrero did her part to make it three on Saturday. The Jaguars came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Perrysburg Yellow Jackets with plenty of help from Marrero, who had nine digs and three aces. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played.

While St. Joseph Academy might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Perrysburg scored at least 13 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-21, 25-21, 23-25, 15-13.

Despite the loss, Perrysburg still got an impressive performance from Abigail Bartolo, who had eight digs.

St. Joseph Academy now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Perrysburg, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-4 record this season.

St. Joseph Academy will head out to square off against Archbishop Hoban at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The match will give the Jaguars their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Perrysburg, they will welcome Clay at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
