Baseball Recap: Nottoway Takes a Loss

Nottoway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the Nandua Warriors. One positive for the Cougars, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Terrik Mills was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing four bases. That run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadarrian Hendricks, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Nottoway's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. Nandua has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nottoway will take on Lancaster at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Nandua, they will face off against Middlesex at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Nandua is facing Middlesex at the right time seeing as Middlesex is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
