Volleyball Recap: Grossmont Takes a Loss

Grossmont managed to slip by Monte Vista the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Foothillers lost 3-0 to the Monarchs on Wednesday. The Foothillers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

While Grossmont ultimately came up short, they really made Monte Vista work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 27-25, 25-21.

Grossmont's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Monte Vista, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grossmont will venture away from home to square off against El Cajon Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Monte Vista, they will take on Mount Miguel at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Monarchs are facing the Matadors at the right time seeing as the Matadors are stuck on a 17-game losing streak.
