Basketball Recap: Childersburg Takes a Loss

Childersburg played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 84-22 loss at the hands of the Midfield Patriots. The Tigers have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Midfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jazmin Johnson, who went 12 for 17 en route to 28 points along with eight boards and five steals. That's the most points Johnson has posted since back in February of 2024. Kamiya Webb was another key player, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds.

Childersburg's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-11. As for Midfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.

Childersburg won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Winterboro at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Winterboro will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something Childersburg surely won't give up without a fight. As for Midfield, they will be taking part in a tournament against Lee at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Midfield is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.7 points per game this season.
