Bishop O'Connell and DeMatha (ranked 34th and 20th in the MaxPreps national rankings respectively) squared off in a high-profile match on Tuesday. The Bishop O'Connell Knights took a 67-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the DeMatha Stags. The Knights' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Bishop O'Connell's loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 18-6. As for DeMatha, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-5.
Bishop O'Connell will welcome Paul VI at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for DeMatha, they will head out on the road to challenge Our Lady of Good Counsel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. DeMatha knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Our Lady of Good Counsel likes a good challenge.
