Basketball Recap: Homer Takes a Loss

Homer lost against Lawton-Bronson back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Homer Knights took a blow against the Lawton-Bronson Eagles, falling 62-26. The contest marked the Knights' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the loss, Homer saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jessup Snowball posted seven points. Snowball has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.

Homer has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Lawton-Bronson, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.

Homer has already played their next match, a 60-36 defeat against Lutheran-Northeast on the 21st. As for Lawton-Bronson, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on St. Mary's at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Lawton-Bronson has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 190 points over their last three contests.
