Soccer Recap: Mattoon Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lincoln on Saturday, Mattoon came back down to earth. The Greenwave fell just short of the Urbana University Illineks by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for Mattoon in their meetings with Urbana University: they've now lost three in a row.

Mattoon's loss dropped their record down to 11-6-2. As for Urbana University, their record is now 10-6-3.

Coming up, Mattoon will square off against Mahomet-Seymour at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Urbana University, they will challenge Cornerstone Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
