Volleyball Preview: Henderson Lions vs. Gilmer Buckeyes
Henderson and Gilmer are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2018, but not for long. The Henderson Lions will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Gilmer Buckeyes at 6:30 p.m. Henderson will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Henderson is headed into the match having just posted their biggest victory since August 20th on Friday. Everything went their way against Kilgore as Henderson made off with a 3-0 win.
After all that action, the final score was 25-17, 25-21, 25-15.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Gilmer sidestepped Pine Tree for a 3-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Buckeyes.
Gilmer took Pine Tree into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-22, 25-16, 23-25, 18-16.
Gilmer was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in August of 2023.
Henderson is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Gilmer, they pushed their record up to 13-11 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
