Football Game Preview: Guilford Grizzlies vs. Foran Lions + How To Watch

The Guilford Grizzlies will take on the Foran Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Guilford will be strutting in after a victory while Foran will be coming in after a loss.

Guilford had a senior duo take command as Aiden Ruotolo gained 189 total yards and two touchdowns and Alex Tafro threw for 166 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 passes. Ruotolo is also crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 109 every time he's taken the field this season.

Guilford was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 242 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 197 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

One reason for the win was Guilford's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Bryce Perry, Chase Hall, and Zisis Vasiliou, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Foran's offense. They took a blow against Lyman Hall on Friday, falling 38-0. Having soared to a lofty 41 points in the game before, the Lions' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Guilford now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Foran, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Everything came up roses for Guilford against Foran when the teams last played back in September of 2023, as the team secured a 56-12 victory. In that contest, the Grizzlies amassed a halftime lead of 35-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
