Gonzaga is a perfect 10-0 against The Heights since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against The Heights at 4:00 p.m. Gonzaga's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so The Heights' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Gonzaga is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of District of Columbia's top teams: Jackson-Reed, who was ranked second at the time (Gonzaga was ranked third). The Eagles took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers on Tuesday. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask The Heights). Their pitchers stepped up to hand Chen an 18-0 shutout on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but The Heights sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Jack DiPompeo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. DiPompeo was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Lorenzo Tembrina was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Luke Shepherd was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The Heights kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matchups.

Gonzaga's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for The Heights, the victory got them back to even at 6-6-1.

Gonzaga got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against The Heights by a conclusive 11-0 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will The Heights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
